Well in one instance Thor did indeed dress up and impersonated Freya because the Giant Thrym had stolen Mjolnir and buried it deep within the Earth and wouldn’t give it back unless Freya was brought to him as his bride. Naturally, Loki and Thor dressed in disguise (Loki as the lovely bridesmaid, Thor as the bride to be) and they somehow got away with this and got the blessedd hammer back.
Which is why the Ice Giant’s comment ‘run home little princess’ got under Thor’s skin as much as it probably did.
